TLC recently launched a new reality series, I am Shauna Rae, which show follows the life of a 22-year-old woman going through life in the “body of an eight-year-old.”

After watching just a few episodes, fans are already falling head over feels for Shauna and want to know more. So where does Shauna Rae live and who is this pocket-rocket?

Diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer at a young age, Shauna survived but was left with permanent damage to her pituitary gland causing her growth to be stunted.

Shauna is managing to lead a happy and healthy life and wants to share this with the rest of the world and other young people similar to her through her new show I am Shauna Rae.

Where does Shauna Rae live?

The 22-year-old brain cancer survivor was born and bred in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Known as the ‘city of the champions’, Shauna definitely fits in and has lived in Pittsburgh the majority of her life.

Though she has recently moved to Long Island, New York, Shauna stayed in Pittsburgh to be close to friends and family and explained that being ‘different’ makes moving an even scarier prospect for some.

The area had always provided her with comfort but the star is now becoming more independent and has made the brave decision to up and move to New York.

Shauna completed and graduated college in Pittsburgh and although she doesn’t have a set career yet, Shauna is currently employed with TLC as the star of her very own reality show, I am Shauna Rae – not a bad job if you ask us.

Who is Shauna Rae?

Shauna is an American 22-year-old, born as a normal baby she never knew what she would be facing less than a year into her life. At only 6 months old, Shauna was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer.

The TLC star fought her cancer through treatments and medications and though she recovered, her pituitary gland was left permanently damaged, stunting her growth forever.

Shauna reaches a height of 3 foot 11, which inspired the aim for doing her own show. She hopes to raise awareness about her condition and to make others like her feel more normal.

In an interview with E!News, Shauna said, “There’s not a lot of people like me but there are people out there who, like me, just feel different in any way.”

She continued:

When the trailer came out, it was kind of like I was worldwide almost overnight. People have reached out to me; I have found other people with pituitary dwarfism, and it’s really not only helped me but helped them because now we know that we’re not alone.
